Psychiatry and abuse...

On the same or similar theme and as a response to the readers' letter about "Diagonsense" this letter "Psychiatry and abuse" came to Miller from another reader. About being labeled and diagnosed - in psychiatry, and what that led to.

The writer was doctor and had had a patient during her (his??) education (if I read right), a patient which had been labeled schizophrenic and paranoid when she told about sexual abuse (already as sixteen year sold) by her father and uncle... The "helpers" didn't believe her, couldn't believe her and this also meant that the abuse could continue!!!

This doctor also wrote an additional letter answering Millers question how she (he?) reacted to the story that the patient told... And also how other (senior) doctors reacted when she told the story about abuse... (I haven't read this letter properly yet though)...
